  • Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman Yee

    Rodney co-founded Piedmont Yoga Studio in Oakland, California, in 1987, and is the creator of dozens of yoga DVDs through Gaiam. He is the author of "Yoga: The Poetry of the Body" and "Moving Toward Balance." Colleen graduated from Jivamukti Yoga's teacher training program in 1998. She is the owner of Yoga Shanti in Sag Harbor, New York, and is featured in over a dozen Gaiam yoga DVDs. Along with their three business partners, they opened Yoga Shanti New York City in the Flatiron district in March 2014. Together, Colleen and Rodney helped to create and are featured in Gaiam's online yoga club (gaiamyogastudio.com). They are also Co-Executive Directors of Donna Karan's Urban Zen Integrative Therapy Program, a 500-hour program training therapists using yoga therapy, aromatherapy, reiki, contemplative end-of-life care, and nutrition.

  • Ethan Nichtern

    Ethan Nichtern is a Shastri, a senior teacher in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition. At 35, he is currently the youngest empowered Senior Teacher in the global Shambhala community. He is is the author of the acclaimed dharma book One City: A Declaration of Interdependence (Wisdom Pubs, 2007), the forthcoming The Road Home: A Contemporary Exploration of the Buddhist Path (Farrar Straus and Giroux, January 2015) and the Novella/poetry collection, Your Emoticons Won’t Save You (Nieto Books, 2012). He is also the founder of the Interdependence Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to Secular Buddhist practice and transformational activism and arts.For the past 12 years, Ethan has taught meditation and Buddhist psychology classes and workshops around New York City and the United States. He primarily studies in the Shambhala tradition under Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, but has also studied Theravadan and Soto Zen Buddhism. He is also an avid yoga practitioner.He was formerly on the part-time faculty at Eugene Lang College at New School University and has lectured at Brown, Wesleyan, Yale, NYU, FIT, and other universities, and as well as at many Shambhala and other meditation/yoga centers and conferences around the country and world.Ethan has been featured on CNN, NPR, ABC/Yahoo News, and Vogue.com to discuss Buddhism and meditation in the 21st Century. His writing has been featured on The Huffington Post, Beliefnet, Tricycle Magazine, BuddhaDharma Magazine, Reality Sandwich, as well as other online publications.

  • Alan Finger

    South African Tantric and Kriya Yoga Master Alan Finger began studying yoga at the age of 16 with his father Mani Finger and renowned swamis of the past century. Alan and Mani created ISHTA Yoga. ISHTA is an acronym for The Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra, and Ayurveda, and also translates to “That which resonates with the individual spirit” in Sanskrit. The ISHTA style integrates breath-based flow yoga with alignment, meditation and healing bodywork. Before creating a home for ISHTA, Alan co-founded Yoga Works, Yoga Zone and Be Yoga. Alan has co-authored several books including Introduction to Yoga with Al Bingham and Chakra Yoga and Breathing Space with Katrina Repka. Alan travels the world to share his teachings. He currently lives and teaches in New York City where he co-owns ISHTA Yoga with his wife, Sarah Finger.

  • Sarah Finger

    Sarah co-founded ISHTA Yoga with her husband, Alan Finger and their partner, Bruce Wilcox in May 2008. As the Teacher Training Director, Sarah helped to develop one of the most renowned Teacher Training programs in New York City. She was also instrumental in the creation of ISHTA Europe, which currently holds trainings in London, Stockholm, and Berlin. Her partnership with Alan has informed her teachings on multiple levels and graced her with the opportunity to teach all over the world including Tokyo, Munich, Stockholm, and India. In 2012, Sarah became the Managing Director of ISHTA Yoga’s two Manhattan locations and in 2013 ISHTA was ranked one of the top 7 yoga studios in NYC by Citysearch. Sarah holds the title Yogiraj and developed her own signature class “Sweat and Samadhi,” which is taught by ISHTA teachers worldwide. Her classes offer a blend of alignment-based flow, breath awareness, kriya techniques and Tantric meditation that enable the practitioner to experience the essence of who they truly are. Her daughter, Satya, inspires her every day to live a life based on truthfulness and self-empowerment.

  • Dana Trixie Flynn

    Dana Trixie Flynn became known as a "teacher's teacher" and is celebrated for her wildly poetic Lotus Flow Yoga and her raw and generous spirit. Dubbed the "Janis Joplin of Yoga," Dana is inspired daily by the beautiful community and creative teaching family that surrounds her at Laughing Lotus Yoga Center in NYC. She continues to grow her yoga family by working closely with Lineage Project and Africa Yoga Project, with whom she is honored to help raise funds and awareness to spread the yoga love. She teaches from her daily practice and this year marks her 25th year of practicing yoga. She feels blessed beyond belief.

  • Paula Tursi

    Paula Tursi is the Founder and Director of Reflections Center Yoga and the internationally renowned Reflections Yoga Teacher Training Program. She has been working with alternative healing practices in New York City and internationally for over twenty years. Paula developed Reflections Yoga as a way to integrate what she found most inspiring in other practices with her own personal truth. She began her training at Integral Yoga, where she studied Hatha and restorative Yoga. She went on to work with esteemed teachers such as Angela Farmer and Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen in the art of asana and movement, breath work and meditation. Paula has been voted one of the top ten meditation teacher in NYC.

    Paula’s work focuses on the alignment of mind and body, understanding that we move not only from our muscles and joints, but also from the support of our inner body.

  • Sandhi Gayartri Ferreira

    Sandhi “Gayatri ” Ferreira has been practicing Jivamukti Yoga since 1995, dancing with a hula-hoop since 2005 and training in aerial and partner acrobatics since 2006. She started teaching Jivamukti Yoga in 1999 and in 2005 became an advanced certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher. Presently she serves as the Jivamukti Yoga Continuing Education Director and is the Aerial Yoga Director for Jivamukti Yoga Jersey City. Her love of yoga, acrobatics and aerial dance has led her to create style of aerial yoga called Aerial Mukti Yoga and she has also co-developed a fusion of hula-hoop and yoga practice called Hoop Vinyasa. Through all of these practices, she has discovered the perfect way to share her love of the healing strength of yoga, acrobatics and aerial dance with playful intention and patience.

  • Jenna Walter

    Jenna discovered yoga at seventeen and it propelled her on a journey to discover her souls destiny. Native American rituals, women’s healing circles, co-counseling and shamanic studies in the Incan tradition have all influenced her teaching style. She has also studied other healing modalities that complement her yoga and shamanic healing , including Shiatsu massage at the Ohashi Institute, herbology with Arcus Flynn, nutrition and quantum energy studies with Karen Panish and Siddha Yoga chanting and meditation. She has completed 400 hours of training in Peruvian Shamanism with Alberto Villoldo’s , The Four Winds Society.

    Jenna is now leading workshops and retreats around the globe bringing her love of service to another level through her Dream Weaver Yoga and Shamanic Healing ~*~ 8 THREADS OF LIGHT INTENSIVES. These are transformational teachings for the era of enLIGHTenment.

  • Nicole Naclerio

    For the last 17 years, Nicole has devoted herself to the transformational aspects of Yoga and healing work, bridging the ancient with the innovative, to unveil the tranquil essence of who we truly are.

    Nicole specializes in Ayurvedic Medicine, offering traditional Ayurvedic treatments for detoxification and rejuvenation, consultations and ayurvedic yoga. She has been blessed by her studies in Kerala, India and Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health where she cultivated her innate understanding of these ancient practices under the guidance of many master teachers, including Dr. Vasant Lad, Dr. John Douillard, Dr. Robert Svobodha, Dr. David Frawley and Claudia Welch.

    Nicole loves living in the rugged, jungle beach town of Nosara, Costa Rica where she leads workshops, retreats, weekly classes and Ayurvedic detox programs.

  • Austin K Sanderson

    Austin moved to NYC in 1998 to attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Design and Production Department. After graduating with his Masters degree in set and costume design, he has spent the next eighteen years working as a designer in the American theater. His work as a professional designer has been seen on Broadway, regional theaters, in operas, cruise ships, circus, numerous television commercials and industrials.

    In 2008 he was introduced to Jivamukti Yoga at a yoga class at Club H Fitness. The teacher was Susan Steiner. As he continued to take class with Susan and other Jivamukti teachers, he wanted to learn more and share with others his life changing experience with Jivamukti Yoga.

    In 2011, Austin attended and graduated from the Jivamukti 300+ hour teacher training program at the Omega Institute. In 2012, he completed his 800-hour Jivamukti Teacher Certification.

    Austin is extremely grateful to all his teachers, but most of all to Sharon-ji and David-ji for giving us the amazing gift of Jivamukti Yoga.
