3 Pieces of Advice for Salon Owners

By Mindbody

March 6, 2024

We spoke to top salon owners and compiled the top three pieces of advice on how to use your business to change your clients' experiences.

1. Offer free education to your clients.

Your staff are experts in the field and it’s time to flaunt it. Many salon clients say that they trust their hair dresser to help them solve issues and giev them hair care tips. Clients want an expert's opinion, and engaging them in conversations about their routine and answering their questions can be mutually beneficial. Your staff earns their trust and loyalty by offering expert advice, which often leads to an increase in salon retail sales. It's a win-win.

2. Encourage repeat visits by offering package deals

By offering package deals, you can guarantee to get repeat visits from your clients. Not only will your they feel like they are getting a great discount, but this is also a great way to ensure you will be able to build a relationship with your client each time they visit. Consistency is the key—by continuously providing great service and remembering client details, you can build trust and make a lasting impression, all while increasing your overall client retention rates.

You can also consider offering package deals for products as well. Each repeat visit is another opportunity to educate your client and recommend take-home products that address their skin or hair problems. As these start to work over time, you build trust and report.
