Khongsittha Muay Thai: Turning Manual Processes into Momentum with Mindbody

Last updated: March 6, 2026

Khongsittha Muay Thai Gym

In 2013, Dunk Visutthithada and his brother-in-law opened Khongsittha Muay Thai with a bold idea.

They loved martial arts. They loved Muay Thai. But they saw a gap.

At the time, serious training in Bangkok often required connections. If you didn't know someone, you couldn't get in. Dunk and Matt wanted to build a gym where anyone could train—fighters, beginners, locals, and even international guests.

The early days weren't easy. When they opened, they had zero customers and fully expected foreign fighters to fill the gym. Instead, something surprising happened. Local women began signing up in large numbers, eager to train for fitness, strength, and confidence.

The team hadn't anticipated that shift. They had originally designed the space with a larger men's locker room and a much smaller one for women. But as more women continued to enroll, it quickly became clear they had underestimated the demand. The smaller locker room couldn't keep up.

They eventually switched the locker rooms entirely, giving women the larger space to accommodate the growing community. It was an early lesson in listening to their clients and adapting fast, a mindset that continues to shape Khongsittha Muay Thai today.

Over time, Muay Thai has surged in popularity worldwide. Today, Khongsittha is more than a gym; it's a full training destination in Bangkok.

Their Train & Stay accommodations allow international athletes to live on-site and immerse themselves in daily Muay Thai training without worrying about separate lodging. For those looking to commit long term, Khongsittha also offers visa packages that include visa sponsorship, making extended training in Thailand seamless and accessible.

Beyond Muay Thai, the business has expanded to include a golf range and a snooker hall, also known as a billiards hall, creating a multi-sport lifestyle hub. With strong momentum behind the brand, the team is now preparing to open a second location.

For Dunk and Matt scaling that vision required more than passion; it required systems like Mindbody.

Mindbody-powered growth

In the early days, operations at Khongsittha Muay Thai were fully manual.

"We had maybe 1,000 folders," Dunk recalls. "People just checking in manually. It was chaotic."

As memberships grew and the business expanded to include training packages, accommodations, and private sessions, operations became far more complex. What once felt manageable on paper started to strain under the weight of multiple offerings. Tracking attendance, logging payments, and monitoring performance across services using paper files and manual processes was no longer sustainable. Eventually the cracks in their operational system began to show.

Dunk first adopted Mindbody to bring structure to the growing chaos. Scheduling became centralized, making it easier to manage classes and appointments in one place. Packages could now be accurately tracked instead of manually recorded, giving the team confidence in what had been sold and redeemed. For the first time, reporting offered real visibility into the business—allowing Dunk to clearly see revenue, performance, and trends.

Over time, he experimented with other providers, including a local system originally built for restaurants that he adapted to fit a gym model. It handled certain functions, but it wasn't designed for a fitness business. The fit was never quite right.

When Dunk revisited Mindbody years later, he realized that the platform had evolved significantly. The reporting was stronger. New tools around lead tracking and marketing stood out. Even as competitors approached him with aggressive pricing and strong sales pitches, Dunk ultimately chose to stay with Mindbody. He made a deliberate decision to invest in the platform that aligned with his long-term vision for growth.

"Mindbody was built for a mind and body business," he says. "That's what I'm running."

For Dunk, the decision wasn't about short-term cost. It was about building on a foundation that could support serious scale.

Optimizing performance through reporting and analytics

Today, Mindbody plays a central role in how Khongsittha operates. For Dunk, the biggest advantage is visibility. "With Mindbody, I can see exactly how my trainers are doing, how my customers are doing. I can see what my best sellers are," Dunk says.

Instead of guessing which packages were working, he can see it in the numbers. Now, rather than relying on intuition alone, he analyzes revenue trends, membership performance, and client behavior in real time to guide his decisions.

Mindbody gives Dunk clear visibility into what is working at his business, which allows him to:

  • Adjust pricing based on demand
  • Create higher-value packages
  • Identify top-performing services
  • Make faster, data-backed decisions

By reducing manual processes and centralizing data, Mindbody helps free up time and minimize human error. That time goes back into refining the customer experience and planning expansion.

Looking ahead: one connected ecosystem

Khongsittha Muay Thai has evolved far beyond a neighborhood gym, it's now a destination brand. Under Dunk's leadership, the on-site accommodations went from being only 10% booked to 80% booked, as more international athletes began traveling to Bangkok for Khongsittha's immersive training experience. Today, guests from around the world train alongside local members, and with new properties coming online, the Khongsittha ecosystem continues to expand.

As the business expands, Dunk's vision is clear: one connected platform powering every location.

Mindbody currently drives Khongsittha's core Muay Thai operations, bringing structure, reporting, and visibility to the heart of the business. The golf range and snooker hall are still operating on a separate system due to an existing subscription contract, but that temporary setup doesn't reflect Dunk's long-term plan.

"If I can just use Mindbody for all the different properties, that'd be amazing," he explains.

For Dunk, software isn't just operational support. It's the foundation for scaling across multiple properties, managing data in one place, and building a global fight community rooted in Bangkok.

From pen and paper to performance-driven growth, Khongsittha Muay Thai is entering its next round. With Mindbody powering their operations, the systems behind the business are now centralized, data-driven, and built to scale alongside their expanding vision.
