Make Your Clients Fall in Love With Your Wellness Business This Valentine’s Day

By Lauren McAlister

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, it’s time to create a strategy for your wellness business to make the most of this incredible revenue opportunity, both before and after February 14th.

And incredible revenue opportunity it is. In fact, just last year Valentine’s Day shoppers spent $20.7 billion on gifts for the holiday.

So, how can you take advantage of the season of love?

Here are a few ideas your customers, and your bottom line, will heart:

1. All you need is love and gift cards

Everyone has someone special to pamper—so why not encourage them to give the gift of wellness?

Make it convenient for customers, and their loved ones, by providing a 24/7 online store to purchase special gift cards, services, and packages.

As a Mindbody customer, you can easily sell gift cards from your website. You can even customize them with Valentine’s designs and/or your branding.

2. How deep is your promotion

Creating a strong campaign with the right message, offer, and aesthetic will help you sell more in the weeks leading up to Valentine's Day. A focused theme across your marketing efforts will help create a consistent and enticing message.

Promote offers that are a low cost to your business but provide added value to the purchaser. For example, a "Buy One, Get One 20% off" gift certificate promotion is a great option for those looking to give to loved ones.

With Mindbody Marketing Suite, you can promote your offers with email and text campaigns customized to your brand. Plus, with Offer Builder, you can do so right from the body of your email.

3. And I will always love, like, and follow you

Share your Valentine's Day promotions across all your online marketing, including your social media accounts.

Post your promos to your feed, go live to share your promotions, and/or highlight gift ideas from your retail section on your Story.

You only have a few seconds to capture someone's attention through social platforms though, so make sure your messaging is concise, branded, and fun.

4. I just called to say you're invited

Create an amazing Valentine's Day environment for your clients, peers, and employees alike.

Consider throwing a Valentine's Day-themed party after hours to thank your clients and staff. Sample popular products or new services and provide special discounts for those in attendance.

Event or not, think about your decor and how it enhances the romance and fun of a Valentine's wellness experience. Holiday music, scented candles, champagne or kombucha, and dark chocolate, for example, will create a festive ambience for customers.

5. That's the power of retail

When clients come to your business to redeem Valentine's Day gift certificates, offer them service and product add-ons or upgrades to get the most revenue out of their visit.

Whether that be a massage add-on, an exclusive product discount, or a complimentary sample, take this opportunity to expose them to the breadth of your offerings.

Take these five tips to heart and we have a feeling your customers will fall in love with your business for the first time, or all over again, this Valentine’s Day.

Keep your clients coming back.
