Retaining fitness clients can be difficult. Retaining personal training clients, specifically, can be even more complex. (If you’ve read our checklist on how to protect personal trainers from ghosting, you know the struggle.)
You'll need to develop, and maintain, a strong personal trainer-client relationship and continue to motivate them in their sessions, long-term. Plus, you'll need to help your clients set S.M.A.R.T. (smart, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-based) fitness goals—and, of course, help them achieve them.
Personal training isn't easy, but it's definitely worth it. As a certified personal trainer, you have the chance to make a significant difference in the lives of your personal training clients (it's so much more than a workout) and help them reach their goals. To do so, though, retention is essential.
