The fitness industry has evolved immensely over the last few years, with health and wellness quickly becoming a top priority for more people than ever. Adapting to a rapidly changing wellness landscape, fitness business owners have become more creative and inclusive, and (in many cases) more successful. That same passion and perseverance are the foundation of this year's 2022 BOLD conference—the wellness event celebrating and building on the global wellness movement.  

The 2022 BOLD conference includes three days of insightful breakout sessions, inspiring keynote speakers, and an up-close-and-personal glimpse at the future of the fitness industry. Located in Los Angeles, CA September 12 – 14, this year's BOLD will connect you to business owners from all around the world—while you soak in the industry’s best business education from a range of diverse speakers.

You won’t want to miss this mainstage event with Ashley Graham, an American model, designer, author, and body activist whose influence has reshaped fashion and media and redefined traditional beauty standards. Her influential work as a body positivity icon led her to become the first plus-sized model to grace the cover of the coveted Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She’ll be joining us at BOLD for a moderated conversation discussing growing up with learning disabilities and her memoir, A New Model: What Confidence, Beauty, and Power Really Look Like.

2. Perfect your business playbook with keynote speaker Ellen Latham

Hear about the beginnings of Orangetheory Fitness, one of the most successful group fitness studios in the country, from the founder herself, Ellen Latham. She’ll be sharing some of the crucial business strategies that made Orangetheory the triumph it is today. As a highly trained physiologist with a lifelong passion for health and fitness, Ellen designed “The Ultimate Workout,” which became the foundation for Orangetheory Fitness—hailed by The New York Times as an effective new plateau-busting workout.  

3. Embrace diversity and inclusion in your business with Nicole Cardoza

Join Nicole Cardoza (she/her), an award-winning serial social entrepreneur, investor, author, magician, and public speaker, as she discusses strategies around making wellness accessible for everyone. She’ll share how to address racial and health inequities in the wellness industry and how to support inclusivity in your studio. Nicole manages the Reclamation Ventures Fund, which provides philanthropic and early-stage investments in individuals and organizations committed to health and racial equity.  Over the past two years, it’s granted over $350,000 in direct support to underrepresented wellness leaders, such as BIPOC and people in the LGBTQIA+ communities.  

4. Find your joy with Ingrid Fetell Lee

Take your studio’s atmosphere to the next level with Ingrid Fetell Lee as she shares inspiration and resources on living a more joyful life through design. Ingrid is a designer and author whose groundbreaking work reveals the hidden influence of our surroundings on our well-being. As a former design director at IDEO, author of Joyful: The Surprising Power of Ordinary Things to Create Extraordinary Happiness, and the founder of the website The Aesthetics of Joy, she sheds light on the relationship between our environment and our mental health. Her immensely popular TED Talk “Where Joy Hides and How to Find it” has been viewed more than 17 million times. 

5. Connect, move, and mingle with fellow fitness leaders

Along with expert speakers and engaging sessions, BOLD includes a variety of opportunities to meet and learn from other industry professionals. Get moving at a wellness session, mingle at the mixer, and put on your dancing shoes at the BOLD Bash. 

  • Wellness sessions: Whether you want to break a sweat or take a breather from all the action, we’ll have several wellness sessions taking place throughout the event. Start your day off with a morning meditation or shake it out with some midday movement.  

  • Welcome mixer: Kick off the conference on Day 1 by stopping by the Welcome Mixer from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM in the Expo Hall. Mingle, get to know fellow attendees, and start exploring all BOLD has to offer.  

  • BOLD Bash: Unwind and celebrate BOLD 2022 with live music, food, drinks, and plenty of dancing. Get ready to tune in and turn up—LA style—at the BOLD Bash 7 PM – 10 PM on Day 2.
