The 4 Most Popular Email Campaigns (and Why You Should Send Them)
By Lauren McAlister
You probably know email campaigns are one of the most effective ways to engage your customers and get them to take action at your business.
But do you know which email campaigns you should be sending to your subscriber list?
If not, you’re in luck! We looked at usage data from MINDBODY Marketing Suite to see which campaign types were sent most frequently this year.
Take notes from your fellow wellness businesses, and include these campaigns in your upcoming mail marketing mix:
1. Newsletter
A regular email newsletter is an opportunity to interact with and provide value to, both prospects and current customers.
The most effective newsletters:
Are sent regularly (monthly, quarterly, etc.)
Include appealing, branded imagery
Are short and link out when necessary to a blog, website page, etc.
Include educational and engaging content (i.e., client shout-outs or stories, employee bios, FAQs, etc.)
Here’s more on how to build an effective newsletter.
The sky's the limit when it comes to newsletter content that makes sense for your customers. The only absolute is to provide them with value. Not sure where to start? Ask! See what your customers want to read in their inbox—and deliver.

2. Widespread flash sale/promotion
When it comes to announcing a promotion at your business, especially to engaged customers and prospects, sending an email campaign is one of the best ways to get their attention.
When sending a promotion-specific email to your contacts, include:
An interesting subject line.
Messaging that highlights your promotion, lists and exclusions, and includes the expiration date
A clear call-to-action (CTA)
With MINDBODY Marketing Suite, you can include a CTA button linking directly to your promotion in the body of your email. Thanks to the Offer Builder feature, customers can take advantage of your promotion with one click.

3. Announcement
Introducing a new class or staff member? Announcing an event, a retreat, or a challenge? Use an email campaign to get the word out about the latest happenings at your business.
While you can include this type of announcement in a regular newsletter send, you’ll likely want to create a separate email for maximum impact.
Make it stand out:
With an enticing subject line
By including a clear call-to-action (CTA) where more information and/or next steps are provided
By sending to a targeted list of customers who will find the announcement especially relevant (Hint: That might not always include your entire subscriber list)

4. E-Commerce
Have an online store that needs love? Use your subscriber list and the e-commerce email campaign template in Marketing Suite to promote your products and increase traffic to your store.
Here’s how:
Send a regular newsletter with product highlights and/or education (We've talked about this already, we know, but it's important to develop rapport and provide plenty of value before you start selling).
Offer promotions but do so sparingly—you don’t want customers to only purchase with a discount.
Include gift card links to encourage online gift card sales. That way, subscribers can gift your services 24/7.

Email marketing is important—and sending the right message to your customers at the right time will help you achieve both your retention and revenue goals. Thankfully, with Marketing Suite’s easy-to-use templates, you can build and send the perfect campaign in a snap.
