Tyron Woodley's Fight For Something More

Ranked third with 15 current wins in the UFC, Tyron Woodley—AKA The Chosen One—was born a fighter. He and his thirteen siblings were raised by their mom in one of the toughest neighborhoods in Saint Louis, Missouri, where survival didn’t come easy. Determined to break free from the crime and the drugs, Tyron focused his efforts on the things that would set him apart: academics and athletics.

In high school he made the honor roll every quarter, earned All-Conference honors in football and won the Missouri state wrestling title, finishing 48-0.

Tyron continued his dedication to high performance at the University of Missouri where he was named Mizzou’s first-ever Big 12 Champion and two-time NCAA All American in wresting.

“In the process of trying out for the Olympic Gold World team, I quickly grew frustrated with the politics of making weight. After following a few wrestlers who had taken up fighting and seeing their success, I decided to give it a try.”

With fifteen wins, five KOs and five submissions, Tyron’s survival instinct continues to run strong and he remains dedicated to using his talents and success as a means to incorporate fitness and wellness in the household. “I want to give families the opportunity to do something that’s good for their lives, bodies, marriages and relationships; something that will bring them together.”

Tyron opened ATT Evolution, a 10,000-square-foot gym fully equipped with the latest in technology, where families can safely learn the art of wrestling, boxing, Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai.

“We did a lot of research, planning and budgeting for everything from our major equipment to the paper towels. But no matter how prepared you try to be, it’s a learning process. There’s a lot that goes into running a gym: sales, attendance, scheduling, payments and the list goes on. I asked a few friends how they were doing it and they referred me to MINDBODY.”

When asked what he loves most about owning his own gym, Tyron said, “The feeling of walking through the door and knowing that I’m bringing families together and helping people lose weight, gain strength and learn martial arts. And I wouldn’t be able to do it all without the help of MINDBODY.”

Gym owner Glenn Murphy raised his retention by 70% in one year.
