Six and a half years ago, the phrase “barre technique” was completely unknown in the northern part of San Diego County. Shannon Higgins changed that when she opened Studio Barre, an exercise boutique in Carlsbad, California. Since then, her fitness studio has made barre, a musically driven, ballet-based and isometric workout, extremely popular.
While the focus of Studio Barre is to help people reach their fitness potential, the studio has also worked hard to create a community that is reaching its potential socially. Studio Barre’s customers are welcomed with a positive and welcoming atmosphere for both men and women, allowing them to be happy and take care of themselves.
Because of the community that Studio Barre has created, it has become a true home away from home for customers. Before class, they can shop at the boutique for fitness wear, jewelry, candles or even specialty socks. Then, during class they can work on defining their muscles while listening to some great music amongst friends. After class, snacks and refreshments are available to continue the healthy and happy atmosphere.
So, how does Studio Barre keep all of their smiling faces coming back? As Manager Lauren Gregory explains, it is all about customer service, much of which comes from the help of MINDBODY.
“MINDBODY not only organized all data with our clients, but it also helps us communicate with them,” Lauren explained.
She encourages fellow business owners to take note of how important customer service is, and how important it is to foster a community and keep up with their customers.
“We are able to make notes on a client if they have an injury, or if they just need a bit more love. Our clients are like family to us, and we treat them that way daily!”
