Belt tracking
Belt tracking is an integral part of many martial arts businesses. MINDBODY allows you to assign belts to students (i.e. white belt, yellow belt), set up requirements for belt promotions (i.e. moving from a white belt to a yellow belt) and track how many classes-per-belt each student takes. You can also track how long each student has had their belt.
Client relationships
Your martial arts business may offer both childrens and adult classes, meaning some of your clients might be related to others. Track relationships among clients, such as family ties, who pays for whom, who referred whom, etc. You can also share memberships among families and create your own custom relationship categories.
Auto emails and SMS text alerts
MINDBODY has the capability of sending automated emails and/or SMS texts when you or your students perform tasks in the software. For example, send your clients an email to confirm when their class has been booked. Or send welcome emails and texts when a client creates an account, send a receipt when they buy online, when they’ve failed to show up for a class – the list goes on!

They work kind of like frequent flyer miles: you can reward clients for referring a friend, buying certain items or booking services online by giving them a certain number of “points.” They can use these points like cash at your business, according to your custom exchange rate.
Clients manage their own accounts online
Pesky admin work? What pesky admin work? Allow your clients to create their own special “client” logins into your MINDBODY software, where they can (get this!) manage their own accounts! Things like updating billing information, changing emails and adding a new cell number can all be handled by your clients. They’ll love that they can do all this themselves, and you’ll free up some hours in the day. It’ll be our little secret.
Send email promotions through Constant Contact
Email is the fastest, most cost-efficient way to reach out to your clients and keep them thinking about your business. MINDBODY has partnered with Constant Contact so that you can sync your MINDBODY client list with your Constant Contact email lists. Create professional looking emails quickly and easily. And, once your email is sent, Constant Contact gives you the ability to track important statistics such as who has read your email, who clicked on what links and more.
Client relationship management
A large part of your business is creating a relationship with your students to ensure they always have a positive experience (and keep coming back). MINDBODY helps you improve your staff’s relationships with your students with its CRM features, such as a profile that stores everything from a client’s nickname to their relationships with other clients. Or, look up a client’s schedule, their visit history and their past purchases with the click of your mouse. Even mark issues that require a follow-up, note injuries, or keep track of progress using Contact Logs.
Managing membership privileges
MINDBODY allows you to create levels of membership, which allow your clients a certain level of exclusivity. For example, create special member programming for each membership level that can be booked online or offer “members only” discounts to each of your member groups.
Payroll and commissions
Your staff may earn their wages is a few different ways, and MINDBODY will help you track them all. Assign flexible payrates to each staff member depending on what they teach. This makes running your payroll a breeze! Our POS will track product sale commissions with ease, encouraging your staff to upsell clients.
Staff permissions
MINDBODY gives you the ability to assign each staff member their own system login. This will inspire a sense of accountability for actions taken within the software. It also allows you to assign each manager and staff member the appropriate level of system access to limit mistakes and protect your information.
