Robert Murphy
Chief Sales and Marketing Officer & Chief Financial Officer
Bob is our “man from the other side,” having used MINDBODY as a yoga studio owner for five years. He has watched and contributed to our program from its infancy to the current ASP version. Bob brings with him successful entrepreneurial skills, having created a real estate company, and an online commercial real estate database company that became the second largest online data provider, and subsequently sold during the dot com era.
Bob joined MINDBODY, Inc. in 2005 as our Executive Vice President in charge of marketing and sales. He moved over from Yoga Works, where he was Director of New York Operations.
Before Yoga Works he owned and operated Be Yoga for four years with his wife, Beverley Murphy, and Alan Finger. He helped grow the business three fold, helping create one of the largest studios and teacher trainings in the country. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Boston University.
He enjoys his yoga practice (especially Beverley’s classes), golf games, and spending time with his three children.
Meg McCall
Marketing Manager
After spending more than two decades in one of Money Magazine’s Best Places to Live (Madison, Wisconsin), Meg exchanged cheeseheads and beer for happy cows and wine when she joined MINDBODY’s San Luis Obispo office in 2009. And though her young son says he’ll miss shoveling snow, she says, “Sayonara, suckers!”
Meg graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she earned a BA in Behavioral Science & Law. She went on to get her Masters of Business Administration and recently began working towards a Master of Arts in Journalism to support her love of writing and communications. In college, she learned the ins and outs of the restaurant industry and considers herself somewhat of a foodie. She later served as Director of Marketing & Communications for United Way of Dane County throughout the 1990s, and recently concluded five years as Marketing Manager for UW-Madison’s Division of Information Technology.
When she isn’t playing soccer or hiking with her family, Meg does occasional freelance writing and dabbles in various creative endeavors including painting, gardening and home improvement projects. She says that between her beautiful new work environment at MINDBODY, a picturesque community and the fantastic climate, it’s hard to imagine ever missing Wisconsin. “Ask me again in the spring, and I’ll let you know!”
Amy Benson
Event Coordinator
Amy Benson was destined for greatness. She was born and raised in the beautiful state of Oregon, and her childhood was nothing more than extraordinary. She attended classes out of necessity and graduated from the University of Oregon in 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Communication Studies. After graduation, she worked as an event manager and assistant for a non-profit event foundation in Portland, where she developed a love for event planning. Although she enjoyed the city life, Amy decided to venture south for a sunnier climate.
In October 2008, Amy found herself in beautiful San Luis Obispo and was soon after lucky enough to find a job with MINDBODY. She is thrilled to be able to continue her work in the event world and to do so at an amazing company filled with equally amazing co-workers and friends.
In the rare occasions that Amy can be spotted way from the office, she can be found spending lots of time trying to write a bio for the MINDBODY website that makes her sounds as entertaining and amazing as she'd like to think she is and pursuing her biggest passions: dancing, baking and traveling whenever and wherever possible. She also enjoys a good cup of tea, improving her yoga skills, wine tasting, spending time with friends and family, hiking, and hanging out with her semi-adopted cat, Pickles the Purr Monster.
Nicole Shipley
Market Researcher
Nicole was raised in the small mountain town of Rifle, Colorado and migrated to California’s Central Coast to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from San Luis Obispo’s California Polytechnic State University.
Brought up in a rural mountain town of one stop light left Nicole with much to be desired. When offered the opportunity to move to a beach community in California, Nicole jumped at the chance and has loved her “SLO” life ever since.
Nicole joined the MINDBODY Marketing team in March 2009 and is extremely excited to be a part of a company that’s innovative and on the rise. Since Nicole comes from a background in the health industry, MINDBODY’s mission to “improve the health and wellness of the world” resonates with her. Nicole’s background also includes print and radio journalism, political science and hospitality management.
When not researching the health and wellness industry or web analytics, Nicole can be found running, cycling, baking and reading books on traveling.
Amber Sandoval
Marketing Communications Specialist
Returning to the Central Coast of California after a three year stay on the beautiful island of O’ahu, Hawaii, Central Coast native, Amber Sandoval has found her passion working with the MINDBODY team. Amber is a graduate of the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii with a degree in Marketing. Her interest and experience with the health and wellness industry, small business, and sustainable business led her to MINDBODY, Inc. As a certified yoga teacher, Amber feels very connected to MINDBODY’s mission to “leverage technology to improve the health and wellness of the world.”
Outside of the office, you can find her hiking the beautiful coastline, practicing yoga, surfing, writing songs, and playing music. When not enjoying the outdoors, Amber’s face is usually buried in books on yoga, marketing, and sustainable business.
Amber is so happy to be a part of such an innovative and groundbreaking business.
Kitten Harpain
Online Search Coordinator
In the middle of the night in the small town of Clovis California [now swallowed by Fresno], a very curious Kitten was born.
Her earliest curiosities included saving the world; evident by the fund she started to save the endangered rhino at the age of 3.
At the age of 5, she was enamored with a toy laptop she was given for her birthday, and it is believed that this early introduction to technology paved the way to her success with any Microsoft based program. At the age of 10, Kitten purchased her first skateboard, and not much is known until she was spotted graduating Mission College Preparatory Catholic High School in San Luis Obispo.
After that, she was seen attending classes at Cal-Sate Monterey Bay, majoring in teledrematic arts and communications. It was in Monterey that Kitten discovered a love of body modification after getting her first tattoo. Kitten soon returned to California’s Central Coast and became an apprentice to a local tattoo artist. Amidst creating art, she held a day job at a local deli, where she was serving creative and inspiring people on a daily basis.
Curious as to where her deli customers worked with such passion and charisma, Kitten was drawn to MINDBODY. As fate would have it, she found herself as their new Sales Coordinator in 2007. As soon as work with Google first appeared in her inbox, Kitten was curious once again, and determined to discover more. Now a full time Paid Search Coordinator for MINDBODY, she explores new opportunities with online advertising on a daily basis. If not immersing herself in internet culture, she can still be found tattooing, painting, traveling the world, sampling various types of cheese, practicing knife throwing, learning Russian, and of course - saving the world.
Danielle Murphy
Online Marketing Coordinator
Danielle hails from Northern California - the East Bay Area to be exact. She grew up in a town called San Ramon, but Danielle decided to relocate to San Luis Obispo to begin her higher education… and never left. She graduated cum laude in December 2007 from Cal Poly, SLO, with a Business degree and concentrations in Marketing and International Management. She also minored in French, which was really just an excuse to study abroad. One of the coolest things she has done in recent years was to study business for one year in Rouen, France. Although Danielle found it hard to concentrate on schoolwork while surrounded by the beautiful French countryside, she ended up learning a lot and having the time of her life!
Danielle joined the MINDBODY team in 2006 as a receptionist, and joined the Tech/Trainer squad in early 2007. She loved problem solving and talking to people all day, and learned a lot about running a business from our clients. In 2008, Danielle left her Tech role to become MINDBODY’s Online Marketing Coordinator, and is loving every minute of it.
People tend to like Danielle because she is polite, and rarely late (that is actually a quote from her favorite movie, Anchorman). She secretly likes it when people call her "Murph," and also enjoys: the San Luis Obispo weather, photography, traveling, swimming, watching baseball, accessorizing and working at MINDBODY, Inc.
Nisse Noble
Senior Graphic Designer
Nisse was raised in a very small California town called Boulder Creek, smack dab in the middle of nowhere. In 2005, she finally decided that moving was better than dying of boredom, so she moved to San Luis Obispo and graduated from Cal Poly State University with a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Communication with a Graphics for Packaging concentration, and a packaging minor. She started designing for MINDBODY in 2008, and is loving every minute of it.
Nisse likes to spend her time working with the MINDBODY team, making attempts to be funny and failing miserably, reading, eating new and exciting food, relaxing, obsessing about fonts, and using lots of exclamation points and emoticons. Other hobbies include explaining the pronunciation of her name to people, despising mornings, being a beer connoisseur, and regretting the pineapple inked on her back because people tend to believe she collects anything resembling the fruit. On any given day you may see Nisse listening to books on tape while she goes for her morning run, or debating with the marketing team about intellectual conundrums like whether or not pole dancing is a form of legitimate exercise.
Quincy Storm
Graphic Designer
Born in Granite Bay, California (near Sacramento), Quincy moved to San Luis Obispo in 2004 to go to college. She married an amazing man who shares her interests in traveling, playing soccer, rock climbing, and collecting dogs. They now live in the tiny beach town of Morro Bay in a tiny blue house with two tiny dogs (a chihuahua and a chi-wie-poo).
In her spare time, you can find Quincy driving to Granite Bay for a surprise visit to her family, reading an addicting book series like Harry Potter or Twilight, playing badminton or soccer at the park, watching a reality TV show, recycling, planning the next big trip out of the country, teaching her dogs tricks, cooking for her husband (the guinea pig), taking photographs of nature, or enjoying the rare Morro Bay sun.
Quincy began designing for MINDBODY in September of 2008. Her education at Cal Poly in Graphic Communication has helped her design various collateral pieces for the company. She loves working with such a fun and talented group of people and looks forward to many good times to come in the crazy marketing department!
