The Merchant Account Sales Specialist (MASS) is responsible for contacting MINDBODY’s new clients, existing clients and prospective clients to sell integrated MINDBODY Merchant Accounts. Selling includes: demonstrating key benefits and features, drafting standard and individualized rate quotes, lead tracking, and reporting on sales leads, goals, and weekly / monthly / annual progress. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and reporting on an agreed upon Marketing Plan which will meet the goals of expanding MINDBODY’s integrated merchant account client base. Once the client is ready to apply for an account the MASS will lead the client through the entire merchant application process including approval or denial. Once an application has been approved, the MASS ensures the client account is set-up appropriately, that the client has been trained on the features of their account, and understands who to contact with any questions or change requests. This position also coordinates with the sales and support teams working to exceed our customers expectations.

This MASS will be directly supervised by the: Merchant Accounts Manager
The MASS will coordinate and work closely with:
- Merchant Accounts Manager / Team
- Technical Support Team
- Sales Associates / Representatives
- Integrated Merchant Account processing companies to include: Underwriting, Customer Support, and Risk Management
Minimum Qualifications:
- 6 months – 1 year sales experience.
- Education: High School Degree. Associate’s degree preferred.
- If no college experience, equivalent work experience demonstrating a strong understanding of how businesses work and working knowledge of how strategies and tactics work in the marketplace.
- Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales quotas.
- Demonstrated past successes with persuading and influencing others.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to establish relationships with key internal business partners.
- Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques to include:
- Developing and delivering presentations.
- Creating, composing, and editing written materials.
- Experience with SaaS software solutions, PCI Compliance, eCommerce trends, no-card-present / card present merchant account credit card and ACH solutions preferred.
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Present and sell Integrated Merchant Accounts products and services to new, existing and prospective MINDDBODY software clients to include:
- Establish, track and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
- Demonstrate key benefits and features of an Integrated Merchant Account.
- Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
- Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and project specific client contacts to be made.
- Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to progress goals on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
- Discuss over 6 months pre-paid sales management solutions.
- Prepare presentations.
- Prepare standard and individualized rate quotes and contracts.
- Offer/troubleshoot online merchant application software assistance with clients.
- Follow-up on pending applications in an underwriting status that are awaiting approval.
- Established Integrated Merchant Account clients:
- Run follow-up rate comparison for existing clients requesting rate decreases.
- Identify and resolve client concerns.
- Manage account services through quality checks as needed.
- Other:
- Maintain an awareness of competitors’ products and pricing, including new trends and developments in the industry.
- Provide on-the-job training to new sales employees.
- Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or client feedback to appropriate company staff.
- Work in harmony with all team leaders and all company employees.
- Offers reserve credit card and ACH training to clients.
- Set-up and test new merchant accounts.
- Additional duties as assigned.
