  • Nisse Noble, Captain of Creative Affairs

    Nisse Noble

Nisse was raised in a very small California town called Boulder Creek, smack dab in the middle of nowhere. In 2005, she finally decided that moving was better than dying of boredom, so she moved to San Luis Obispo and graduated from Cal Poly State University with a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Communication with a Graphics for Packaging concentration, and a packaging minor. She started designing for MINDBODY in 2008, and is loving every minute of it.

Nisse likes to spend her time working with the MINDBODY team, making attempts to be funny and failing miserably, reading, eating new and exciting food, relaxing, obsessing about fonts, and using lots of exclamation points and emoticons. Other hobbies include explaining the pronunciation of her name to people, despising mornings, being a beer connoisseur, and regretting the pineapple inked on her back because people tend to believe she collects anything resembling the fruit. On any given day you may see Nisse listening to books on tape while she goes for her morning run, or debating with the marketing team about intellectual conundrums like whether or not pole dancing is a form of legitimate exercise.

  • Leah Laurie , Online Team Manager

    Leah Laurie

Born and raised in sunny San Diego, Leah spent a good portion of her youth at the beach drinking too many 7 Eleven Slurpies and wearing too little sunscreen. She moved to San Luis Obispo in 1999 to pursue her higher education at Cal Poly University. After graduating with a degree in Graphic Communications, Leah headed back home with a passion for marketing and design, a new appreciation for wellness and sustainability, and a healthier relationship with high SPF.

It didn’t take long for Leah to begin feeling a draw back to California’s Central Coast. She returned a few years later when she landed a marketing position at Manduka, a leading supplier of high performance yoga gear. Spending the next four years working within the close-knit yoga community, Leah became acquainted with MINDBODY long before she joined the team in early 2011. Leah now manages MINDBODY's corporate website and related online marketing initiatives, as well as oversees the search engine marketing and social media programs. She is honored to be part of a thriving organization centered on purpose-driven values.

Leah lives in Morro Bay with her husband and chocolate labradoodle. You can often find "the Lauries" playing fetch on the beach at sunset, listening to educational podcasts, and cooking up a storm.

  • Kitten Harpain, Lead Searcholigist

    Kitten Harpain

In the middle of the night in the small town of Clovis California [now swallowed by Fresno], a very curious Kitten was born.

Her earliest curiosities included saving the world; evident by the fund she started to save the endangered rhino at the age of 3.

At the age of 5, she was enamored with a toy laptop she was given for her birthday, and it is believed that this early introduction to technology paved the way to her success with any Microsoft based program. At the age of 10, Kitten purchased her first skateboard, and not much is known until she was spotted graduating Mission College Preparatory Catholic High School in San Luis Obispo.

After that, she was seen attending classes at Cal-Sate Monterey Bay, majoring in teledrematic arts and communications. It was in Monterey that Kitten discovered a love of body modification after getting her first tattoo. Kitten soon returned to California's Central Coast and became an apprentice to a local tattoo artist. Amidst creating art, she held a day job at a local deli, where she was serving creative and inspiring people on a daily basis.

Curious as to where her deli customers worked with such passion and charisma, Kitten was drawn to MINDBODY. As fate would have it, she found herself as their new Sales Coordinator in 2007. As soon as work with Google first appeared in her inbox, Kitten was curious once again, and determined to discover more. She became the Paid Search Coordinator for MINDBODY exploring new opportunities with online advertising on a daily basis and has been promoted to Lead Searcholigist. If not immersing herself in internet culture, she can still be found tattooing, painting, traveling the world, sampling various types of cheese, practicing knife throwing, learning Russian, and of course - saving the world.

  • August Kreowski, Graphic Designer

    August Kreowski

August Kreowski, a Graphic Designer at MINDBODY handles things of the graphic nature, trying to always bring creativity and a voice to all things art and design. He began working at MINDBODY in the fall of 2010. He's been in a state of awe ever since.

August is a self-taught graphics man and has an extensive fine arts background, working freelance for 5 years and interning with SLO's very own 805 Collective where he learned the tricks of the trade. He is dedicated to living his life submerged completely in creative based endeavors. Because of August's different approach to graphic design, he is able to bring a different light to an already striving graphics department.

When he's not drinking endless amounts of coffee at work, he finds himself mostly working on side art projects. He enjoys obsessing over street art and convincing himself that he really needs a new vinyl. A simple man who wears way to much plaid also enjoys good friendship, talks over coffee, Super Nintendo and surfing.

August's favorite part about MINDBODY is the company's dedication to taking care of its employees and providing killer software while they do it.

  • Doug Hales, Marketing & Communications Liaison

    Doug Hales

An East Coast kid by upbringing, Doug got his fill of winters while growing up in rural Pennsylvania. When boasting the sweetest sledding hill in the neighborhood no longer held the same allure (and driving in the snow introduced a whole new level of stress), Doug began to harbor dreams of escaping Old Man Winter. A week after graduating college, he said farewell to the volatile weather and fell in love with California's always-beautiful Central Coast.

Doug has a knack for languages, and went off to college hoping to craft his penchant for creative writing into a viable career path. Along the way, he jumped at the chance to study abroad in Barcelona, Spain. After graduating from Elizabethtown College in 2008, Doug settled into San Luis Obispo as a Spanish translator and marketing guru for a local software company. He joined MINDBODY in September 2011, putting the Spanish aside (de momento) and honing his creative energies in English.

As you may have already guessed, Doug loves to travel. Despite a nasty fear of flying, he's taken to the skies to gallivant around Asia, Africa, and Europe. And Australia and South America are on the (very long) list of places to visit next. (We'll see about Antarctica.) When not planning the next sojourn, Doug enjoys playing tennis and sings in the local choir.

  • Kristin Casillas, Marketing Automation Technician

    Kristin Hurlburt

A SLO county local, Kristin is our Events Administrator and helps the team plan, prepare and implement more than 45 tradeshows a year, both domestic and international. She enjoys working such a fast paced environment and is thankful to be part of such a creative and fun team!

You may ask yourself, how did Kristin land the job at MINDBODY. Well that's a long story that we are more than ready to tell. Back in 2006 Kristin was brewing coffee at a local cafe that sells organic and fair-trade coffee, she wanted to learn more about fair trade and decided to travel to Guatemala to volunteer at a coffee and macadamia nut plantation. After learning that fair trade is a business approach to alleviating global poverty and promoting sustainability, she discovered her calling - to use business practices in a way that promotes global change.

In order to reach her goal, she decided to study International Business at SDSU with an emphasis in Spanish and Latin American Studies. During her undergraduate studies she was blessed with various opportunities to travel and spent time in Europe, Thailand, South America and Mexico. During her senior year she decided to participate in a dual-degree program in cooperation with the Universidad de Valparaiso, Chile. She spent one year in Chile studying business, travelling to nearby countries, sipping on Pisco Sours, and surviving the 8.8 earthquake in February of 2010. After travelling the world, Kristin has realized that SLO is where it’s at, and made the move back in August 2010 and landed the job at MINDBODY in November. She’s excited about her position and feels strongly about MINDBODY’s mission to leverage technology to improve the health and wellness of the world.

When not at work, you can find Kristin coaching her niece’s U8 soccer team (Go Purple Ponies), avoiding earthquakes, or drinking coffee at Joebella’s of Templeton. She has also become a “recreational” runner after completing her first ½ marathon in La Jolla back in 2009. Other hobbies include playing volleyball, speaking Spanish, trying new recipes, and traveling.

  • Michael Leibovich, Event Coordinator

    Michael Leibovich

Michael comes to MINDBODY in 2011 after six years in the music industry as both a professional recording artist and a daily operations manager, planning over 450 events including concerts, music festivals, and music expos in North America, Europe, and Japan. During this time, he became well-acquainted with the skills it takes to ensure that all aspects of travel, lodging, food, gear, and participants run smoothly (Most of the time while living on the road in a cramped and sometimes-smelly tour bus). As Event Coordinator at MINDBODY, Mike joins Noelle Luchino to plan and orchestrate MINDBODY's participation in over 50 trade shows per year.

With a B.A. in Communication Studies from Cal Poly University, Michael's concentrations included both event branding and public relations. For his senior project, he joined forces with United Way of San Luis Obispo County to organize and rebrand its annual benefit project, "Flavor of SLO," a regional food and wine tasting event. In addition to event marketing, other academic interests include Environmental Rhetoric. Michael recently submitted a chapter for a book on authenticity in the Climate Change debate, assessing the communication techniques employed by science documentaries to present authority and win over audiences.

Michael and his wife, Beth (who also works for MINDBODY, woo-hoo!), moved from Connecticut in August of 2010 to make San Luis Obispo a potentially permanent place to live. As a piano player and published song-writer, Michael continues to pursue music in his free time, and most recently released an EP with his band, Fialta (shameless plug here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/fialta-3p-ep/id435573580). Traipsing through grassy terrain, eating wasabi-laden sashimi, and drinking seasonal micro-brews also make it on the list for pastime activities. Michael couldn't be more thrilled to join such a passionate and successful team here at MINDBODY, Inc.

  • Amy Shen, Marketing/Communications Intern

    Amy Shen

Born and raised in one of the most exciting cities known to mankind—that’s right, you guessed it: Fresno, California—Amy attended the finest schools the Clovis Unified School District had to offer. She left the land of scorching heat and mind-consuming boredom the minute she could, on a quest for higher education.

The road led her further down the freeway 41, across a bit of the 101, and into the happiest city in America: San Luis Obispo, CA, where Cal Poly became her college of choice. There, Amy studies marketing and photography, looking to expand her business intuition and creative mind set. In spring of 2011, she found her way to MINDBODY as the marketing/communications intern, providing support in copy writing, PR, and other general marketing tasks (and no, those tasks do not include making coffee. Score!). This fall, Amy will embark on her last year of college and looks forward to going wherever the wind will take her.

She’s a sucker for John Mayer, live music, live music—oh, and live music, the wizarding world of Harry Potter, good fashion, good films, and good photography, Helvetica Neue Light and Helvetica Neue Ultra Light (yes, the font), light sabers, being a baller out on the basketball court, and continually bringing meaning to the phrase, “ridiculously good-looking.”
