    Stender Sweeney

    Stender came to us as an angel investor (literally), as he lead a group from the Pasadena Angels and two chapters of the Tech Coast Angels in the company’s first round of institutional funding in 2005.

    After a long career in corporate finance, Stender has recently devoted much of his time to advising small or startup companies. He began as a corporate banking officer at Citibank in New York and spent 27 years in various financial positions at Times Mirror in Los Angeles, serving as Vice President Finance during the final eight years. Since that time he has worked with a number of small companies in interim financial or general management positions or acted as advisor to their CEOs and/or CFOs. He holds a BA in Economics from Stanford, MBA in finance from Harvard and an MSBA in accounting from USC. He has participated in various management education programs.

    Stender serves on several Boards and currently works with 3 small companies in advisory capacities. Most of his experience is in strategic and financial planning as well as control and capitalization issues. The industries where he has had primary experience are communications and real estate. He lives in Pasadena with his wife Polly and his preferred activities are skiing and tennis.

    Daryl Bernstein

    Daryl Bernstein is a leading expert on entrepreneurship. He founded Global Video on his family's kitchen table and grew the business into the leading U.S. producer and distributor of educational videos. With over 100 employees and a 60,000 sq. ft. building, the company served teachers in every discipline in almost every American school and university, mailed millions of catalogs each year, produced original programming in its three in-house studios, and distributed videos for over 200 producers. In 2000, School Specialty, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCHS), acquired Global Video.

    Daryl’s third celebrated book, The Venture Adventure: Strategies for Thriving in the Jungle of Entrepreneurship, uses the analogy of an expedition in search of hidden treasure to present practical strategies for starting and growing a business. Publisher's Weekly commented, "Bernstein's ideas are not merely rooted in material wants; his definition of business has a more humanistic air." The Venture Adventure is referenced in many university entrepreneurship classes and also is published in Germany.

    The Switzerland-based World Economic Forum named Daryl a Global Leader for Tomorrow, among an inaugural group of awardees that included Bill Gates and Tony Blair. The Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity appointed Daryl a U.S. delegate to its Conference on International Understanding in Venice, Italy, to examine conflicts in Africa, Northern Ireland, the Baltics, the Middle East, and the U.S.

    Daryl is an active angel investor and advisor to fast-growing companies. He is a member of Tech Coast Angels, an angel investor network that provides funding and guidance to companies in Southern California. He is currently an advisor to and/or investor in MINDBODY, YouMail, RegeneMed, and CEYX Technologies.

    Katherine Francis

    Katherine Francis joined the MINDBODY, Inc. Board bringing with her 23 years of experience in strategic marketing and operations. Ms. Francis has held executive positions for finance, technology and entertainment companies. Ms. Francis is currently a principle in a marketing firm.

    Katherine is a seasoned investor and a member of the Tech Coast Angels. She is actively involved in a variety of early phase companies.

    Her previous prior positions include executive responsibility with a leading credit card transaction company; vice president of operations and director of marketing for Digital Insight, an Internet banking transaction company. One of the early staff members at Digital Insight, she was instrumental in taking the company from a start-up to an IPO with a 400 million dollar market cap.

    While working in the marketing department at The Walt Disney Company she implemented national educational campaigns for Beauty and the Beast, American Teacher Awards and Bill Nye, the Science Guy to 100,000 schools throughout the United States.

    Ms. Francis graduated cum laude from University of California, Los Angeles and received a Master’s degree in Business Administration from CLU. She has published two books and enjoys writing screenplays, yoga and travel. Ms. Francis currently resides in Southern California with her husband and son.
