Basic Sales Reports

This section provides information on the basic and most common sales report that you can use to determine you earned revenue.

MindBody provides accrual and cash basis reports. If you don't understand these accounting methods, or how to calculate your earned revenue using MINDBODY, click here to learn more.

Sales

  1. Select Reports.
  2. Select Sales.
  3. Select Sales.
  4. By default the sales report is set to Accrual. You can change the report from Accrual Basis to Cash Basis depending on your chosen accounting method. Simply use the drop down list on the second row. 
  5. Click Generate.

The report is divided into sales by payment method with totals for each section and a grand total at the bottom.

Sales by Category

  1. Select Reports.
  2. Select Sales.
  3. Select Sales by Category.
  4. By default the sales report is set to Accrual. You can change the report from Accrual Basis to Cash Basis depending on your chosen accounting method. Simply use the drop down list on the second row. 
  5. Click Generate.

Cash Drawer

The cash drawer report is a perfect tool to help balance your cash drawer at the end of a day, or shift. Only cash equivalent sales are listed on the cash drawer report. This includes: cash, check, and credit card sales. Staff can balance the drawer according to cash, checks, and credit card sales receipts. If you have multiple drawers, you can manage those as well.   1. Select Reports.
  2. Select Sales.
  3. Select Cash Drawer.
  4. Click Generate.

Gift Cards

The Gift Cards report shows all assigned and unassigned gift cards.

In MINDBODY, a gift card is unassigned if it is not associated with a recipient. These are all gift cards that are sold as undesignated and have not been assigned through the retail screen.

A gift card is considered assigned if it is associated with a recipient regardless of whether the credit has been used to purchase services, or products.

  1. Select Reports.
  2. Select Sales.
  3. Select Gift Cards.
  4. Click Generate.

Account Balances

This isn't a sales report, but you can use the account balances report to generate a list of positive and negative balances in order to determine your earned revenue.

  1. Select Reports.
  2. Select Clients & Accounts.
  3. Select Account Balances.
  4. Click Generate.
  5. From here you can generate statements, reconcile unpaid visits, or simply obtain the total amount of balances and apply it to your earned revenue calculation.
  6. To generate a statement:
  7. Click the Create Statement link.
  8. Click Generate.
  9. If you want to immediately print a statement, then click Make Printer Friendly, and then click Generate.
  10. Click the printer icon at the top of the screen near the Next Week link to print the statement.
