Payroll Report

This report displays all of the payroll that your staff has earned based on class rates and appointment rates that you have set up. This report won't show the commissions that staff earned while selling stuff on the Retail screen. You can find those commissions on the Teacher Commission Report. It also won't show hourly employee information, which only appears on the Time Clock report.

How to find this report

1. Log in as the owner (or as someone with permission to view reports)
2. Follow this menu path: Reports => Attendance with Revenue

Printing this report from an Apple computer

When printing the Payroll Report from an Apple computer, we recommend exporting the report to PDF. This will format all of the Payroll information that you just generated into a PDF file that can be saved onto your computer. For our clients that use Apple computers and found that printing this report from the Safari browser was causing formatting issues with the right margin, printing directly from the exported PDF will solve your earlier print issues.

Understanding the Report Filters

• View - Choose which staff members you want to run the report for.
• Programs - Choose which Programs/Departments you want to run the report for.
• Pay Rates - These are all the pay rates used for workshops and teachers. You can run this report to show only one type of pay rate or all types of pay rates.
• Start Date - The beginning of the pay period that this report will display.
• End Date - The end of the pay period that this report will display.
• Locations - If you use MINDBODY Online to manage more than one location, you can choose which business location you want to view Payroll for. Or, you can run the report for all locations.
• Include Inactive Instructors - If you have ex-employees that you have made inactive, you can check this box and the report will show the payroll due for active and inactive employees.
• One Teacher Per Page? - This check box will make the report print a separate page for each one of your staff members. There are a couple steps that you need to do in order for this check box to work: 
  1. Check the box next to "One Teacher Per Page?"
  2. Generate the report
  3. Click on the print icon see image
• Show Comp Details - You can have the report list the total amount of comps each teacher had in the report's pay period. This is important if a teacher makes a percentage on each class or workshop. Because if clients are being comped, the teacher won't make as much money.

Understanding the Reports Results

For each of your staff, the Payroll Report will display a summary of their total earning wage, regardless of how you pay them. Meaning, contributions from hourly pay, tips, commissions, and for services rendered will all appear on the report. If you prefer more detail on commissions, hourly wage, or tips, you will want to run their perspective reports (Payroll, Tips, and Commission).

Note: The system doesn't keep a history of past pay rates. So, if you change the pay for one teacher (e.g. giving them a raise from $20 a class to $22 a class) it affects all past pay rates (making it look like you have always paid that teacher $22 a class.) MINDBODY may be the world's best scheduling software, but still use outside tools to track payroll history.
