First, you should understand that there are three ways that a client can obtain his or her own login:
Security Verification
The third way listed above creates a security risk. How? Let's say that a brand new client named Sarah Esmont comes into your business and buys $200 worth of private appointments. You create Sarah's account in the system. You collect her money. And you put $200 worth of services on her account that she can use in the future.
Then, let's say an unscrupulous character that understands MINDBODY software goes to your system and clicks on the New Users: SIgn up! link in the upper right corner. If they know that Sarah has paid for services at your business but hasn't used them, they could enter her name into the system. To avoid creating a duplicate account for Sarah, the software will ask if the Sarah Esmont trying to create an account online is the same Sarah Esmont that was earlier entered by someone at the studio. If the unscrupulous person clicks "yes," then they could potentially schedule themselves using Sarah's series.
So - if you have clients trying to create logins using Step 3 above, their online abilities will be temporarily frozen by the Security Verification Feature. Before they can move on with booking services online, they will see a screen that tells them Thanks for signing up with our business. Your login just needs to be verified by the business owner. The client's name then ends up on this Security Verification screen. They can't log in and use your services until you have verified them on this screen. By "verify," we mean that you have examined the contact information that the online person has supplied and verified that it matches the real person's account. Usually you're asked to match the email address or phone number.
